I was born in Massachusetts/USA in 1963. Five years later my family emigrated to Spain. Already at that time music played an important role in our family life. So it was obvious to get musical lessons as a child. At the age of nine I was taught to play the violin and the piano by the most reputable teachers of the conservatories in Pamplona and Madrid.
The time in Spain shaped me very much
Until recently I still thought in Spanish!
Therefore, many of my songs are in this
expressive language.
When I was 15 our father decided that we should earn our living as road musicians. Private music making changed to professional, it became our source of income and from then we daily played in the streets all over Europe. Also at that time I was taught by very good teachers and learnt to play the violin in Vienna at the age of 16. Besides that I already had ballet lessons as a child regularly. Although I graduated as Prim Ballerina, music played the more important role in my life from the age of 17 on.
As you know, I was also challenged in my private life when I was young, since I had to overtake the mother role after my mother’s early death in 1981. My major task was to look after my younger brothers and sisters. Additionally, as the producer I was responsible for the musical branch of the Kelly Family’s CD-productions for many years. In 1992 my son Sean was born.
Now I will search for my own paths for the first time. This starting over becomes obvious regarding the title of my new album “Morning Of My Life”. My new look is another way to express this.
I feel very, very well –
and I’m not done yet at all!
In order to be able to develop further musical talents, I handed over the responsibility for my CD-Production to different reputable producers. I’`m very satisfied with the result. It’s a very personal album, showing my own potential without neglecting my musical origin.
The latest release was written and produced by Sasha Sagall „My Last Goodbye“ and the European Tour 2009 GODSPEL starts in march and will be finished in december this year.
